The Colorado Rockies like to believe they have baseball's biggest home-field advantage in Coors Field. They like to think visiting teams start to get intimidated with the mere thought of a trip to Denver. They like to look at a homestand as an opportunity to put things in order.
They like to, but they can't.
It used to be all of that. But it isn't anymore.
At least it hasn't been so far in 1997.
And as the Rockies begin play after the All-Star break tonight with a four-game series against San Diego at Coors Field, that is a concern.
