As a child, my family spent a few years living in Europe. My most vivid memories as an expatriate are culinary: a fantastic steak in Brussels, a great sandwich in Normandy, rich trifle in London and a Big Mac at the McDonald's on the Champs-Elysees (so sue me, I was 12 years old and homesick). As a result, I thoroughly enjoyed Stuart Stevens' new book, Feeding Frenzy: Across Europe in Search of the Perfect Meal.
