Frequently, when people call us about an animal's elimination or aggression problem, our conversation goes something like this:
``Have you taken your pet to a veterinarian to check for medical problems?''
``No, Fluffy doesn't look or act sick.''
``Sometimes pets can have an illness and not appear sick. You should have your veterinarian examine her.''
It's hard to think about a trip to the vet when a pet doesn't seem sick, but if Fluffy is sick and the problem is left untreated, behavioral or environmental treatments likely won't help.
