On a bright August morning, SilverCreek ski resort chief Marise Cipriani stood proudly on one of the ski area's tree-covered peaks, admiring the view of the valley below her.
The scene is symbolic.
Cipriani, who with her husband, Celso Cipriani, purchased SilverCreek in 1995 for $12 million, is one of the few women at the top of the nation's ski industry. She is the only female CEO in the Colorado ski business and is among a dozen female presidents nationwide.
