The Broncos-Rams game was just about out of hand, so punter Tom Rouen thought he might saunter over to Denver's Unatackle, the prodigal son Gary Zimmerman, and engage in the kind of witty banter, the kind of small talk and exchange of bon mots his mute teammate so enjoys.
``So, um, how did it feel?'' Rouen asked Zimmerman.
``Awkward,'' Zimmerman said.
``Awkward to be back playing football again, or awkward to be playing the right side?'' Rouen wondered.
``Both,'' Zimmerman said.
