RTD employees continued to fight for a pay hike Saturday as they stated their case before a state-appointed arbitrator.
The labor dispute had the transit agency on the brink of a strike in June. But the state Labor Department ordered the employees' union and the transit department to enter arbitration. Friday marked the first day of talks. Both parties are scheduled to meet again Friday and possibly Saturday.
The arbitrator will then make the final decision, which both sides are legally bound to abide by.
