ESTES PARK -- Astronomers using an X-ray telescope have made the first observations of a massive black hole as it sucks space and time into its spiraling clutches like a cosmic-size version of Dorothy's tornado.
Researchers said Thursday at a scientific meeting here that the data, collected by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology using NASA's Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer satellite, confirms a subtle phenomenon known as ``frame-dragging.''
