NEW YORK -- Can it get any better for Matt Lauer?
The latest issue of People magazine lists him as television's ``sexiest TV anchor.''
Regular proof of Lauer's appeal can be found almost any morning as giddy women wave Matt Lauer placards outside NBC's Today studio in Rockefeller Center. His fans often squeal with the intensity normally reserved for a rock star.
Lauer also is a hit with Nielsen.
After he replaced Bryant Gumbel as Today co-host last January, numerous media observers closely followed the show's weekly audience ratings, checking for a decline in viewership.
That never happened.
