SOMEWHERE ABOARD THE PISCA NAVICULA -- Visions of the great north country swept across chilly Lake Granby, aroused by a fish and the gray skies of an impending snowstorm.
If it hadn't been for the proximity of a highway and tall crags of the Indian Peaks, we might have been on an inland sea in the Northwest Territories, instead of dropping anchor in a Granby cove. And that truck full of howling mountain lion hounds that came scudding down the dirt road might have been a pack of wild wolves.
