Last summer, when USA Basketball named 10 NBA players to Dream Team III to represent the U.S. at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Seattle forward Shawn Kemp was omitted. Intead, Kemp made the organization's "Never Again" list, a roster of those considered embarrassments to the country for their tasteless behavior as members of Dream Team II at the 1994 World Championships in Toronto.

The Olympic team, USA Basketball president C.M. Newton vowed then, "would be one of character, not characters."

Kemp was hurt by the slight, and promised to clean up his act. He has, and insiders at USA Basketball ...
