THORNTON -- There is no such thing as a bad speller or a bad reader in Susan Munsell's class.
Munsell, just named Colorado Council for Learning Disabilities Teacher of the Year, finds a way to give every child the sweet smell of success.
Tuesday, Justin Montanez traced his finger through menthol shaving cream to learn to spell words.
The 7-year-old stumbled on "pet," but slid smoothly through "wet" and "let," his fingers sending signals to his brain about how to spell and pronounce all the "et" words.
"Good job!" said Munsell, a resource room teacher at Coronado Hills ...
