These days, Wendy Gramm is spending much of her time on the campaign trail. But don't call her a candidate for first lady.
"Phil's the one who's running," she said, referring, of course, to her husband, Texas Sen. Phil Gramm. "He's the one who wants to be president, not me. I've told Phil: Don't get this job and expect me to do anything."
I spoke with Mrs. Gramm in Denver the other day, while the senator was preparing for yesterday's Republican caucuses in Louisiana, as well as the more significant contests coming up in Iowa on Monday and in New Hampshire on Feb. 20.
Like her husband, Wendy Gramm is an economist ...
