Greg Lopez went for the heart in a business that often goes for the jugular.
``He really loved people,'' said longtime friend Michael Green, a photographer with the Associated Press in Chicago.
``Whenever we'd get together, whether working or traveling in the mountains, Greg was always talking about the great people he met or was writing about or worked with.''
Lopez, a Rocky Mountain News columnist, was killed by a hit-and-run driver Sunday, St. Patrick's Day.
