Ray Bradbury's an optimist, but he admits it's not always easy.
``When I lecture, I say `don't watch local television news ever again,' '' he says. ``What you get on local TV is murders you didn't commit, rapes you had nothing to do with and funerals you don't want to go to. It makes it seem like the world's coming to an end every day.''
Bradbury, 75, author of such science-fiction classics as The Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451, will be in town Saturday to deliver a lecture he calls ``The Great Years Ahead'' at the Auditorium Theatre.
