Loida Nicholas Lewis may start with a prayer when she addresses the Urban League of Metropolitan Denver's 50th anniversary dinner tonight.
That's how Lewis begins many board meetings. And as chairman and chief executive officer of multinational TLC Beatrice International Holdings Inc. of New York, she runs plenty of them.
Lewis' unorthodox approach appears to be working. The gigantic food manufacturing and distribution company reported 1995 revenues of $2.1 billion, up 14% from the year before.
