PITTSBURGH - Hideo Nomo won for the first time in three road starts this season and Raul Mondesi hit one of three Los Angeles homers as the Dodgers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-4 Monday.
Mike Piazza, who had gone hitless in two games since his 16-game hitting streak ended, slugged a two-run homer for the Dodgers off John Hope (1-2). Greg Gagne added a three-run shot in the ninth off Joe Boever as homers accounted for all eight Los Angeles runs.
The homers awakened a Dodgers offense that had scored 121 runs before Monday, the second-lowest total in the majors.
