NEW YORK -- Forget that the Communists could retake power in Moscow next month. The engine that stokes American capitalism sees profit opportunity in Russia's version of the Dow Jones industrials.
In his first visit to Russia, New York Stock Exchange chairman Richard Grasso is delivering the main speech Friday to a conference titled ``Raising Capital in the American Market.''
Sponsored by U.S. and Russian market regulators, the conference has attracted 18 big privatized Russian companies, ranging from the Gorkii Automobile Works to the Red October candy maker to the GUM department store chain.
