A recent column in the News told about The Ms. Foundation for Women's plans for a ``Sons Day'' next year to coincide with Take Our Daughters to Work Day. On this day (a Sunday), boys would be kept home to do household chores such as laundry and cooking.
This is the '90s. Boys already do household chores. It looks to me as if this group is trying to deal another blow to our sons' self-esteem. The Ms. Foundation now says that not only we should take only our daughters to work for an inspiring, self-esteem-building day, but that we should add to our sons' insult by having a self-esteem-dampening day for them! Isn't it bad enough that boys feel excluded already?
