Coors Field's lack of parking and a booming entertainment scene in Lower Downtown has been a grand slam for the 16th Street Mall, now surveyed as the metro area's No. 1 tourist attraction.
A 1995 study commissioned by the Denver Convention & Visitors Bureau showed the mall in a virtual tie with the Cherry Creek shopping center, which held the top spot for three years. The survey, which had a 4% margin of error, shows the mall ahead by 1%.
