So this was what will pass for drama for Dream Team '96.
For much of a Saturday afternoon, the Washington Generals had the Harlem Globetrotters on the ropes. The understudies were singing all the show-stoppers. The sidekicks got all the good lines.
A bunch of college kids ran the Dream Team dizzy for 30 minutes, then the script got back to normal. I mean, Arnold Schwarzenneger and Bruce Willis don't wind up as quivering, cowering wimpazoids at the end of some big-budget Hollywood extravaganza and the Dream Team doesn't lose to anybody.
It may, however, be time to start thinking about breaking up the USA Select team, a group of college players ...
