WASHINGTON -- Greeley is one of the fastest-growing export markets in the nation, the U.S. Commerce Department reported this week.
The department's International Trade Administration says exports from the Greeley metro area grew 81.8% from 1993 to 1994 - the third-highest growth rate in the country.
Greeley-area businesses exported $276 million worth of products in 1993 and $501.8 million worth in 1994, the report says.
It did not explain why, however.
Local officials think the increase can be attributed to the Monfort meatpacking operation, a Hewlett-Packard plant ...
