COLORADO SPRINGS -- Western Pacific Airlines will use city-issued revenue bonds rather than its own money to finance a five-gate addition to the Colorado Springs Airport.
The City Council Tuesday approved the issuing of $9 million in tax-free bonds for the airport addition, for exclusive use by Western Pacific. The airline hopes to open the new terminal annex by Dec. 15.
The arrangement replaces a plan announced by Western Pacific last February to finance a $2.8 million terminal addition itself with a completion date of July 1.
