A state program that provides low-income AIDS patients with life-sustaining drugs will run out of money before the end of March, officials warned Monday.
The shortage could hamper or cut distribution of eight potent drugs to the 400 to 450 indigent AIDS patients who receive them through a $1.25 million program called Assistance for AIDS-Specific Drugs.
``We're not facing rationing - but we likely will not have enough money to get through the entire fiscal year,'' said Karen Ringen, executive director of the Governors' AIDS Council, which oversees the program.
