Horace Silver speaks the same way that he plays the piano: words flow in an earthy, direct fashion that's never overbearing in its earnest optimism.
Talking from Boston, before traveling to Denver for a three-night stand at Vartan Jazz that begins tonight, The Hardbop Grandpop (to borrow the title of his new Impulse CD) recalled his last visit to the Mile High City.
