Tonight's Lloyd at Newport high school football game is being dubbed the ''Band-Aid Bowl'' because both teams have suffered through several injuries this season and because it has the significance of a bowl game.
And the significance is rather simple: Lloyd (3-4 overall, 1-2 in the district) needs the win to keep its faint Class AA, Region IV, District 1 playoff hopes alive; Newport (3-4, 2-1) needs the win to likely lock up a playoff berth or fall into a group of teams fighting it out for two spots.
