After two years of breaking even, the Aronoff Center for the Arts is poised for major growth not only as a place to be entertained, but also as a place to meet.
Attendance in the Aronoff Center's three theaters increased 68.5 percent in the 1996-97 year over 1995-96, its inaugural year.
Elissa O. Getto, president of the Cincinnati Arts Association, which manages the $82 million downtown center, Music Hall and Memorial Hall in Over-the-Rhine, said, ''We went from 486 events in the three halls in the Aronoff (1995-96) to 819 in (1996-97).''
The CAA fiscal year runs Sept. 1-Aug. 31.
