It wasn't shaping up as a good fall for the Glacken family.
First, Matt Glacken, a junior quarterback at Elder High School, was injured in a game against Moeller on Sept. 26. The following month, Glacken underwent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder, a tear in his throwing shoulder than threatened a promising career.
Two weeks later, his home caught fire and Matt's father, Terry, the only one at home, managed to escape with his life as the family home burned to the ground.
