The charming atmosphere of historic downtown Montgomery will be enhanced by the addition of the Westminster Chimes bell tower.
The $25,000 bell tower, built by the internationally known Verdin Co., will be dedicated at 5:20 p.m. Saturday as part of the city's Holiday in the Village celebration.
The bell tower is at the southeast corner of Montgomery and Cooper roads and is 20 feet high and 10 inches in diameter and contains four cast bronze bells that will play the Westminster chimes on the quarter hour.
The city worked with the 1st National Bank and the owners of the former BP gas station to install the bell tower. ...
