When a pair of suicide bombers attacked the USS Cole on Oct. 12, they might have hoped to obliterate any evidence of their plot along with themselves. They didn't succeed. Yemen's security forces didn't do much of a job of protecting the Cole, but since then Yemeni investigators have uncovered safe houses, tracked down obscure tips in remote places, captured suspects and extracted wide-ranging confessions. Last week authorities in Sana, Yemen's capital, revealed that they'll soon begin trying six people for the bombing, which killed 17 U.S. sailors.
