BELFAST - Five years ago, with the glow of the Northern Ireland peace process fading fast, Bill Clinton came to this tear-stained town and turned on the lights.
This was literally the case as the president, on a cold November night, flicked the switch that illuminated a majestic Christmas tree outside Belfast's imposing city hall.
But is was also true in a deeper sense, as Clinton's easy charm and stirring words instilled in many - Catholic and Protestant alike - a burning belief that the promise of peace could become reality.
