The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEl) is reminding users to take all safety precautions when operating their chain saws this season. First of all, before turning on the chain saw, operators should read the owner's manual-including all operating instructions and safety precautions--to learn critical information such as how to avoid kickback.
Some of the overall safety tips offered by OPEI include: do not operate a chain saw with one hand, or when you are fatigued; use safety footwear, snug-fitting clothing, protective gloves, and eye, hearing and head protective devices; use caution when handling fuel, move the chain saw at least 10 feet from the fueling ...
