PITTSBURGH NATIVE RECEIVES DOUBLE LUNG TRANSPLANT AT PRESBY
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- A Pittsburgh man is in serious condition in Presbyterian-University Hospital after becoming the hospital's third double lung transplant recipient.
The surgery, performed yesterday, replaced the diseased lungs of Paul McGuinness, age 37, of Mount Lebanon, Pa. The procedure is the second successful double lung transplant to be performed at Presby.
The first occurred on April 19, 1988.
The surgical team was led by Bartley Griffith, M.D., cardiothoracic surgeon at Presby and associate professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh ...
