More maternal faces are smiling from book covers, television and movie screens than ever before.
''I think there has always been an interest in mothers. Everybody has a mom,'' said Debbie Wilburn, deputy editor of Working Woman magazine. ''Women play such an important role in upbringing that people still think of women primarily as caregivers. And, with celebrities, there is so much interest in that family and where they came from, the people focus on the mom.''
