When it comes to Buddy Holly and the Crickets, it seems Peggy Sue broke up the band.
Rock 'n' roll oldies fans know the history of Holly and his group of fellow Texans; how they burst in the scene in 1957 with ''That'll Be the Day'' and had an incredible 18-month run of seminal rock songs.
In late 1958 Holly moved to New York; the Crickets stayed in Texas. Fans may not know that the split came about partly because drummer Jerry Allison had just married Peggy Sue. Yes, that Peggy Sue.
