LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Saturday's Kentucky Derby will show if superstition can supersede two trends - one more than a century old and another nearly two decades in the making.
Pulpit was made the 2-1 morning-line favorite for the 123rd running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs after drawing post position No. 7 Wednesday.
Like most connected with horse racing, be it owner, trainer, jockey or fan, Pulpit's trainer, Frank Brothers, admits to being superstitious.
That's why he was delighted with drawing the No. 7 post.
