How far will the Presidency push information and consultation?The French Presidency is still holding out hopes that an agreement can be reached on the proposal for worker involvement, which would force companies to consult employees more before making decisions on redundancies and plant closures. While the French would love to claim victory on this dossier, as social affairs is near the top of their Presidency priorities, the 2O December Council meeting is not officially confirmed yet, and it is against Council rules which require at least 14 days notice.
