In Switzerland's Engadine Valley, as in other parts of Europe, the rails lead to the trails, and vice versa. Combining the two modes makes for memorable travels.
Europe's famously clean and comfortable trains provide transport to hikers and bicyclists as well as the through-traveler. In the Engadine, when the view from the window of the train gets too breathtaking to resist, hikers or cyclists simply detrain at the next village and start huffing and puffing their way deeper into the Alps.
