Coral Gables Federal stuck to its knitting with residential lending. No wonder it's profitable.
They do things the old-fashioned way at Coral Gables Federal Savings and Loan Association. A visit to the headquarters on Ponce de Leon Boulevard is a like a trip back to the Eisenhower era. Soothing Muzak wafts through the halls. Gentlemen employees wear their suit jackets at their desks. Officers still fondly recall hokey Saturday morning TV commercials featuring Ranger Bob and his Coral Gables Rangers, in which youngsters were encouraged to deposit their nickels and dimes in a Coral Gables Federal account.
