The cover of the latest issue of DC's "Wonder Woman" promises "a bold new direction!"
It's hardly the first time.
The Amazon princess has been re-created several times since her debut in the back of "All Star Comics" in 1941. Those many twists and turns are detailed in fine fashion in "Wonder Woman: The Complete History" (Chronicle Books, $29.95) by Les Daniels, who previously put Superman and Batman under a similar microscope.
Daniels spends a lot of time on Wonder Woman's creator, which is understandable: William Moulton Marston was hardly your average funny-book creator. Marston was a Harvard-trained psychologist _ the type of self-promoting ...
