It's hardly the first time.

The Amazon princess has been re-created several times since her debut in the back of "All Star Comics" in 1941. Those many twists and turns are detailed in fine fashion in "Wonder Woman: The Complete History" (Chronicle Books, $29.95) by Les Daniels, who previously put Superman and Batman under a similar microscope.
