Stress is the No. 1 workplace hazard in the United Kingdom, according to a survey of 9,000 health and safety representatives by the Trades Union Congress, a U.K. labor organization.
The TUC report, titled ``Focus on Health and Safety,'' found that stress was the greatest concern for 66% of safety representatives.
The results were broken down by region, which showed that stress or overwork was greatest in London, cited by 73% of respondents there as the major workplace hazard. That was followed by Scotland, where 72% of health and safety representatives described stress as the primary workplace risk.
