Glendale Heights Village President Ben Fajardo, who suffered a stroke in September 1999, announced Friday he will not seek re- election.

Fajardo had been considering another run for the village presidency, but said he changed his mind after discussing the situation with his wife.

Fajardo took time off to recover from the stroke and returned to the duties of village president a year later.
