An Arlington Heights ad hoc committee will recommend to the village board that a frontage road which snakes along the north side of Palatine Road be torn out to make room for the state's expansion of Palatine Road.
The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to add another two lanes to the four-lane Palatine Road and offered the village several proposals to complete the reconfiguration.
After meeting Wednesday with residents of the Enclave subdivision and other neighbors, the committee agreed on a proposal that eliminates the north frontage road but would create an 18-foot center median, ...
