Introduction

After tens of years enjoying market monopoly, the country's wheat flour industry, which is controlled by a conglomerate, has for the last two years felt the threat of being unsaddled after the abolition of the import duty on that commodity.

The association of wheat flour producers (APTINDO) which groups 4 wheat flour companies, has complained to the government against the import policy, saying imported products have grabbed a large portion of the market.
