A Lebanese government strategy to lower the country's gas and oil import bill is progressing as planned, and a landmark visit to Iraq by a high-ranking official delegation is expected to provide a stimulus for the endeavour. Lebanese Finance Minister Fouad Siniora led the delegation to Baghdad, which arrived on Thursday. The team included Economy Minister Basil Fuleihan, Minister of State Michel Pharaon, and a number of industrialists, bankers and businesspeople. The Lebanese flight also carried approximately 10 tons of food and medicine for the Iraqi people.
