BORSKI TO CLAYTON: UNFAIR FORMULA TAKES AWAY OUR DAY CARE
PHILADELPHIA, July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- "To turn over 500 Northeast children away from day care because their schoolmates are not poor enough is outrageous," said U.S. Rep. Bob Borski (D-Pa.) in a recent letter to Philadelphia School Superintendent Constance Clayton about the closing of five school district-sponsored day care centers in the 3rd Congressional District.
Borski said the decision to close the centers was "not well thought out," and called upon Clayton to convene an emergency meeting of the school board to find a way to keep the day care centers open.
