NEW YORK POWER AUTHORITY: LONG ISLAND SETTLEMENT
DEPENDS ON POWER PLANT
WOODBURY, L.I. July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- New York Power Authority (NYPA) Chairman Richard M. Flynn said Thursday that without legislative approval for NYPA to build new power plants on Long Island, the entire negotiated settlement between New York State and the Long Island Lighting Co. (LILCO) "is in serious jeopardy."
Construction of new plants "is a critical part of the deal," Flynn said during a Thursday taping with News 12 Long Island here. The program, Bill Zimmerman's Newsmakers, will be broadcast on Long Island Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
