Just two weeks after reconstructive surgery, Operation Smile patients giggled as Regina Marscheider of Spectrum Puppets danced a pink bird around their feet.
Those too sore to grin just smiled through laughing eyes.
The puppet party, celebrated Monday at Spectrum Puppets Productions and Children's Performance Workshop for Abused Children of Virginia Beach, aimed to raise the spirits of the young patients who are still healing.
Five youths, ranging in age from 1 to 20, underwent surgery for severe craniofacial deformities the week of June 7 as part of Operation Smile's visiting World Care program.
