IVOR -- Joseph Franklin Nichols, 64, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at his residence.
Mr. Nichols was born in Houston County, Ala., and was the son of the late William Theodore Nichols and Truma Lee Forrester Nichols of Lufkin, Texas. Mr. Nichols, a former longtime resident of Virginia Beach, served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a CWO4. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War and received many medals during his tour of duty, including four Good Conduct Medals, the Secretary of Navy Achievement Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
