TWO NEW BOOKS from National Geographic take us deep into the sea from perspectives that are as different as life and death.
Sylvia Earle, one of the great ocean explorers of our times, is the author of ``Wild Ocean: America's Parks Under the Sea,'' a close encounter with America's national marine sanctuaries.
Earle, sometimes known as ``her deepness,'' seems to spend more time at the bottom of the ocean than on land, but she doesn't go very deep with ``Wild Ocean.'' Instead, we terrestrials get a snorkler's introduction to the country's dozen marine sanctuaries with some stunning photographs to keep things, well, swimming.
