If ever there was an example of why folks who breed dogs should take their hobby seriously, English springer spaniels, Max and Pretty, and their puppies are it.
All five dogs are orphans now and the puppies, Lacy, Cuddles and Shade, are just 4 months old.
Max and Pretty were bred on purpose by their owners, who then gave up the whole family soon after the puppies were born, because, they said, their children were allergic to dogs.
``Seemed you'd know that before you bred them,'' said Kris Lally, a member of Mid-Atlantic English Springer Spaniel Rescue.
